Book Review by Madhulika Chopra

Little women ... A classic tale of four March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, each trying to achieve their own dream castles.

Meg is a graceful lady desiring to get married and to become a good house wife living in nice place with nice people. Jo is a tomboy always wanting to look after her family in absence of her father ( who is in army fighting in American war), she loves reading and wants to become a writer, Beth is a sensitive little girl always taking care of small things mostly ignored by others and Amy, the youngest of all, is an artist who loves to try everything and dreams to be rich.

The book beautifully describes their journey from childhood to womanhood, the phases of lives they go through, the love and bond they shared, the dark times, the romance and happy moments. Marmee (their mother) was my favourite character. She took care of the girls all alone portraying a great mentor for the daughters. The book is divided in two parts 1. The joys of teenage 2. The struggles of womanhood. Both parts are incredibly written. As a daughter one can adapt lots of learnings from this book.
